The Mash Tun
The above pictures show the false bottom and the mash tank. The false bottom is made from 1/8" stainless steel plate that is hinged in the center and has about 600 1/8" holes drilled into it. The false bottom is cut a little smaller than the mash tanks so it sits right at the bottom of the tank where the curve starts. In the tank you can see the thermocouple that regulates the mash temperature. The picture below shows the tri clamp elbow that I attach to empty the mash tun.
